Would it be rude?

An old friend of DH's is a heavy guy (400+ lbs). He wanted to go to the Biggest Loser auditions in MI but had to work the day they were held. (This was a year or more ago).

Well, Extreme Makeover Weight Loss is looking for a new cast and is hosting auditions in Detroit. Would it be rude if I told him about it? (He doesn't watch the news). I don't like approaching the situation, but at the same time, he is the one that wanted to change...

Re: Would it be rude?

  • Hard to say.  Do you think it would go over better if your H told him about it?

  • How close are you? Do you think he would be open to it?

If you do, I would just say that you remembered he wanted to go to the BL audition and couldn't make it but just in case he was still interested in something like that, the Extreme Make over was doing auditions.

  • I wouldn't think so if you were excited and non-rude.

ie. "OMG, Dude! I know you missed the Biggest Loser but I saw that EM Weight Loss is coming!! You should totally do it! Be an awesome TV star"

  • no, I don't think it would be rude if he has openly expressed interest in doing a show like that.   If he is closer to DH, then I would suggest having him make the mention to the friend.

  • Okay, thanks for the reassurance. The auditions are tomorrow so DH was going to talk to him today about it but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to come off as rude. (He was planning on saying something like "Hey I know you wanted to be on BL... ")

  • I think it's fine to talk to him about it.

  • If he already said he wanted to be on Biggest Loser I dont think it would be rude. But it's all about how you say it.
