Temp Agency Recommendations

A good friend was laid off.  She was a restaurant manager but wants to change her career field.  So, she is looking at doing temp work to hopefully get her foot in the door at a place.

Any recommendations on good agencies.  Bonus points for ones that do a lot of long term or temp to perm work.

She is in Woodbridge, but is fine with working in VA or DC.

not sure if they'd be able to help but i found my current position (which is going perm next month) through the boss group. their offices are in bethesda but do placements in DC & VA too. they also have bi-monthly networking happy hours that are open to anyone. the next one is in march. they are by far the best agency i've used.

My DH was with Aerotek and got several jobs through them.  They do quite a bit of temp to perm, and the contract he's working on now is long term--he's been there about 7 months (although the company he was working for asked him to switch to a different temp agency, so he is no longer with them--but they got him the contract).  His experience has been pretty good.  The office he's gone through is in Reston and the jobs have been in Reston/Herndon.  I don't know if there's another one closer to Woodbridge (we live in Manassas).

We use to post lots of work through CityStaff and I know people who have gotten great jobs through them.

At work we use CityStaff- and I love the people they worked with.

Because of my education level, I used TrakServices when I was temping.  They have different branches (I was in TrakLegal) and I found the work I did was much better than the typical reception/ data entry stuff.
