WWYD? Re: snap press die vs. pliers

I already have a snap press & the die for plastic snaps which I use quite frequently.  I'm going to be making some patterns that call for metal snaps.

 Would you buy the metal snap die for the press (~$32, but I have a $20 credit to the snap store) or buy the pliers (~$20, but I could probably rustle up a Jo-Ann coupon to use).  FWIW, I had planned to use the store credit on more colors of plastic snaps.

I'm not sure how much I will actually use metal snaps - I hope to sew a lot of my own baby clothes, etc. but you know about intentions vs. reality.  However, I'm hesitating on the pliers because I've seen such mixed reviews online (specifically for the Dritz brand).

I have the Dritz snap pliers and don't have many issues, but you'll have better quality with a die for the press. I go back with regular pliers after attaching snaps because I have had some that don't attach completely with just the snap pliers.

Thanks!  I may go with the press die just to ease my frustration factor.  I'll have enough of that with sewing.  ;-)

I have the pliers too, and have same issue as mentioned above on occasion. If you can afford the press, I'd say get it
