I totally missed your boss getting a divorce!!! The one that had the husband that they thought was abusing but turns out he had something medically wrong?

Yes. Longest story ever, but turns out he was in fact addicted to drugs and he was do dependent that it was making his body physically pass out just so he could get the drugs. The Mayo clinic finally figured it all out.
He had used in the past so this has been sort of a long time coming. She started feeling guilty when she thought something was really wrong with him, but now that she found out she's going ahead with the divorce. They have kids so it sucks, but he's pretty much a loser. He hasn't worked in forever - technically when he "worked" here I did all his work and he played on You Tube.
Currently he lives with his parents, who also now both don't work and they've decided they're moving two hours from here. He only has supervisised visitation with the kids so it's all just more and more stressful for her.
Add to that she just sold her house, but there's nothing on the market she wants currently so she's probably moving in with her mom or dad for a month and she is at like max stress level.
I basically just try everything I can to help her and keep her from having a nervous breakdown. Her assistant and I are like bound and determined to make sure that she comes through this all with as few "scratches" as possible. Her family is too, so that's a big help. She has a great support system other than the soon to be ex-H!
whoa. i didn't see that coming (drugs being the cause of the mystery illness). can you imagine taking it all the way to the mayo clinic and STILL not fessing up? douchebag.
Yeah, he super sucks. He was like a medical mystery there for awhile because he was "off" the pills, but then he'd faint and that would cause a migraine so they'd give him meds. Finally one doctor figured out that if they gave him a lot he wasn't fainting and then if they withheld it he would faint to get the drugs. They said he really was passing out, but it was like a physiological/psychological thing all at once.
Very odd, but he's odd so it's not surprising.

wowzer and I agree what a db for going all the way there and spending that money when he knew he had a problem.
Glad that she got out of it and she'll come out happier and stronger...great that she has a team that's helping her out
