Refi ladies...changes should be coming in March!

Read the attached..it should make it easier for some! im hoping we can get in on it then! We are at 6.5 but because I have more debt now due to MH unemployment, they used it against us. Even tho he now has a job, it isnt enough....so frustrating.

Anyway let's keep our fingers crossed that this goes through!! :)

  • The HARP 2.0 has slight changes from the previous HARP. It's still a traditional refi but let's you go to 125% of the equity if you current loan is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac (Freddie has more restrictions than Fannie). If your loan isn't owned by either comp you don't qualify. Also I believe the loan had to be taken prior to a certain time, I think 2009 but am not 100% on the date
  • still not going to help people like me.   Our loan is not owned by Freddie or Frannie.

  • That stinks your loan isnt Freddie or Fannie. Did you check on that website just to be sure.

    http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/get-assistance/loan-look-up/Pages/default.aspx

Mine is under one of them but I UNFORTUNATELY have Bank of America and they stink at what they offer!! They dont do rate modifications that others do, so even though like you all, we pay on time each month, it doesnt help! boo!

  • With the HARP you don't have to use your current lender. You can go to any lender that offers it.

I know but it stinks because if I had a bank that did rate modifications, if you pay on time, they don't have to go thru all the appraisal and credit checks again. Since MH was unemployed for 1.5 years and then got a job that isnt super high pay at all, our debt ratio is higher than it was when we bought 4 years ago. My student loans and his student loans kicked in now due and our CC debt went up since he was out of work. Even tho we have decent credit scores, they said our income wasnt high enough. IF BOA wasnt such jerks, they would see the point of the program. I always pay my mortgage first, always, so I wish they see we take it seriously and help us out a tad. Obviously I wouldnt need the refi if we had all our ducks in a row. You know what I mean? It kills me to be at 6.5 though. Do you know when this modification will take place? is it march?

  • still doesn't matter our loans are not fannie/freddie!
