Need some island recommendations

MH and I just decided to take a 4 day vacation and we're having trouble decided where to go.  Does anyone have any recommendations- we're debating Antigua vs. Cancun vs. US Virgin Islands.  Any resort recommendations would also be great.  Thanks!

Edit: This is a trip without the kids.

  • Depends on what you are looking to do and what you are looking to spend.

  • For now, we're not that concerned about price.  We're willing to consider both high and moderate.  Since we only have a few days, we're mainly looking for relaxation, but also things like water sports, shopping, maybe an excursion out of the resort.

  • We did Antigua for our honeymoon and really liked it.

  • We did Key West for a quick kid free getaway.  Totally relaxing and fun.

We did Cozumel for our honeymoon.  Affordable and lots of excursions.  Not too long of a flight either.

  • Not sure what time of year you are considering, but Bermuda is awesome!  Such a short flight, so relaxing and just gorgeous.  We have gone there for only 4 days a few times and it is a great short trip.

  • If you go to Mexico, I definitely recommend Secrets Maroma Beach. It was amazing.

  • We used to take 4-5 days trip to the USVI's all the time pre kids. We would stay in a villa or condo. St John has a beautiful Westin. You fly direct into St Thomas and take a ferry over. Or just stay on St Thomas. There are some great places there too but its more commerical in parts. Grand Cayman is also lovely and a pretty quick direct flight. When we only had a few days we wanted to leave at 7am, be in the sand by 11:30 so we always flew non-stop about 2 hours flight time
  • The virgin islands are beautiful! We've stayed in St. Thomas and took a trip to St. John when we were there.  It was one of the most amazing beaches I've been to.

  • We love Key West for a fun getaway! We honeymooned in Riviera Maya and stayed at the Aventura Spa Palace...that was amazing!
  • My only Caribbean experience is St. Thomas because that's where we got married and honeymooned. We had lots of fun, felt safe and rented a car to get around the island which was easy to navigate.

We stayed at this villa which was AWESOME!  I love that we had private use of the pool.http://www.mclaughlinanderson.com/villawebpage.cfm?curunitid=26

  • Anguilla is amazing.  Beautiful beaches, great restaurants, not crowded or touristy at all.  It's also EXTREMELY safe.
