did you ever bury a dead goldfish when you were a kid?
this is completely random, but I'm just curious. Dave and I were talking about pets we had a kids and we both had goldfish at one point. And then it made me laugh when he said, "but then it dies and you have to flush it down the toilet." SO true. If it was a cat or dog (or even a hamster) it was probably buried in the backyard, but why did we always just flush goldfish? The easiness factor? because we weren't as attached to a goldfish to give it a ground burial vs. a 'burial at sea'?
i told you it was random! LOL

Re: did you ever bury a dead goldfish when you were a kid?
When I first read the subject, I thought it said, "Did you ever BUY a dead goldfish" - and I was thinking, "Why on earth would anyone buy a dead one on purpose?!"
We pretty much only had water creatures - fish, frogs, little newts... I know the fish were flushed and I assume the other ones but I really don't know! We did have a dog but she died at the vet's, and quite honestly, I'm not sure what they did.

we flushed our gold fish after a nice service over the downstairs toilet. We buried Lucy the guinea pig in the fall. Under our Tree. Reilly said the Pledge of Allegiance because "its the most important thing I know"
:-)
LOL! Reilly is too cute.
They always got a flush I always figured it was because they're water creatures, so they can RIP in the environment they were comfortable in? who knows.
We had a gerbil and a hamster...they got buried in the backyard.

I had a beta fish that died a day or two after I had a m/c. Also devastated. I totally understand.

I think out fish were all flushed. The pet mice and rabbit were buried in the yard. The dog's ashes are on a shelf with photos of her.
