TP question

Sorry if this seems like a silly question...

I was always a Scott TP buyer (just regualr scott), it is reasonably priced, lots of sheets per roll, etc.  Recently I have been trying to buy more "natural" products, so I have done Scotts natural, and some other brand that I recently found. These natural ones usually have less sheets/roll, so DH is convinced that while they are "natural" that because we have to buy TP more often than before, it's not any better environmental wise.

Thoughts??

Re: TP question

  • I don't know about Scott specifically, but most natural/EF paper products are more EF because they use recycled paper.  If this is the case, it's probably more EF even if there is less TP on the roll.

  • Look for recycled toilet paper, particularly one that gives a high percentage of "post-consumer" recycled content (which is the stuff that you and I throw in our recycling bin, not just leftovers from manufacturing). Recycled TP means we are not cutting down new forests of trees for a disposable product.
