where to take 3 year old to have fun

Want to take our DS out tomorrow, as he has been stuck in house last few days. Live in Monmouth county, any good ideas? Seems like not too many options in winter.

Re: where to take 3 year old to have fun

  • Library/ book store? If its not insanely cold we still do the park, even if only for a few minutes.
  • What about a jump place or indoor gym?  Not familiar with Monmouth County but I'm sure there's one around there somewhere.

  • where are you? We went to Please Touch Museum last week from Aberdeen and took an hour and 20. She had a blast!
  • we took the kids to the American Museum of Natural History. Took an hour, 20 got there when it opened, zoomed up to the dinosaurs, no one there yet, got tickets for the butterflies at 11:15, walked around and looked at the mammals, had lunch, saw the butterflies, saw the ocean stuff and went home

We love the Camden Aquarium, we leave to be there when it opens, check out the hippos 1st, then the sharks (most people do them last because they are the last lettered exhibit most people start with A) then we have an early lunch before the crowds come, we do the rest of the stuff and then hit the road.

Jenkinsons aquarium is much much smaller but its a good hour, you can go to the arcade in winter too

I got the flu from the Please touch museum last Feb. so I have bad feelings about that place. I felt like it was way too crowded for us on the weekend with 2 little ones.

If we get a decent day I would rather hit the Philly Zoo down the street. Takes about hour 40 to get there from Mon. Cty

Crayola factory is supposed to be fun, but we havent gotten there yet

  • Bowling, monster golf, jenkinson aquarium, ice skating.
  • I don't know if you have anything like this by you, but we took the girls to a horse farm yesterday and it was so fun.  The baby didn't care of course, but Josie had a blast.  She fed the chickens, pet all the horses and went on a pony ride.

My neighbors went to IPlay and there wasn't much there for 3-4 year olds to do.

Jenks aquarium, Camden aquarium, library, bookstores,  Freehold mall has a play area and carousel, Toms River has the Insectropolis.
