airline to vegas question

is southwest the only airline with a direct flight from O! to vegas?

Re: airline to vegas question

  • If you're up for a drive, Grand Island has dirt cheap, direct flights two days a week.

  • I wish we could but right now it looks like I might fly out of wichita and dh out of omaha. I have to pass on L to the gparents and that is the half way point. Sure wish sw would run one of their killer deals so I could just flyer her down and then catch a hop to vegas.
  • We just booked a Vegas trip out of Omaha(kids will be staying with my parents) and went with Southwest.  Frontier had some slightly cheaper flights, but I wasn't interested in the super late arrivals when you add in atleast 1 stop.  The addition of paying for bags didn't help either!

If driving the wee one halfway is the only option I would look into Allegiant Air...same airline as GI.  You should be able to get a similar cheap direct flight from Wichita.  If you don't mind the more restrictive flight times/dates it really can be a steal.

  • I just booked a Vegas trip and there are tons of options for flights. As far as continuous flights, they seem like they're always limited out of Omaha, but you can also look into flights where you have a connection but don't change planes. When I booked there are arrivals all times of the day, I get in at 9 am, but there were at least four other morning options and a boatload of afternoon and evenings ones.

I've priced out GI several times and it's not that much cheaper because Allegiant's fees are ridiculous. You get charged for absolutely everything and their booking fees also seem higher. Take into account gas and parking, plus having to book your trip around the few days they fly and to me it just wasn't worth it.
