So, this isn't a 24 hour bug
He first started gagging/puking @ 7am Friday. Just now he puked all over his bed so clearly this is way more than a 24 hour bug. I feel so bad for him. I have no idea what to do. He's drinking, so that's good and he ate a piece of toast, easily 6 hours ago so there's really not much else I can do for him. His stomach is a mess...both ends.
I feel like I should call the ped tomorrow but really, what can they do?
Re: So, this isn't a 24 hour bug
Well we are on Day 6 over here.... my DD got sick in the middle of the night Monday/TUesday. And that was by FAR the worst of it- getting sick every 20 minutes or so.
But up until yesterday she threw up every day- even after we thought she was doing better and had eaten.
I've called the doctor/nurse line and took her in because I was nervous about dehydration.
They did give me a Zofran for her on Wednesday which helped but otherwise they just say push fluids slowly and not to worry about food. (which was hard because my DD was only 25 lbs to start with and she was begging for food)
THey said it lasts between 5 -7 days... and that it's extremely contagious
Hope he feels better
Ugh...sorry. The first 24 hours of it was the WORST for us, but technically we still had episodes from both ends for a week. It went from E, to me, to R! MH managed to pass it by completely! I hope the rest of you stay healthy!
ETA: E had a "well" visit during his stint and the ped said that there really isn't much you can do. He suggested that we all stay hydrated. The problem was that we couldn't hold ANYTHING down. Water down...water up! UGH! Either way, hang in there. He will be better soon!
