Hi,
My Fi and I just moved to NJ from the Virginia, DC area 3 weeks ago. We are in corporate housing at an extended stay hotel ( its getting old) and have 2 months to find a place. We are getting married at the end of April and are hoping to be settled in before then.
We are currently in Basking Ridge where he works, I just got a maternity leave replacement teaching job 35/40 minutes away north. FI wants to find a midway point. My question is does anyone have a real estate agent recommendation for rental/ buying we are weighing the options of both...? What towns in the area do you recommend? We are looking for a more urban/suburban town rather than country/ suburban as we are used to that and enjoy that lifestyle. Our budget is about 2000 a month as this is what we budgeted. Thanks for any suggestions
Re: Just moved to NJ.
first of all, welcome.
second, to be clear, are you looking for a rental or a buy? an apartment, a TH or a house?
good luck!

where exactly is your job?
morristown might be a great option for you- lots of apt options, much more "urban" than some of the other suburban towns around here... and easy access to NYC via the train, nice middle of town to walk around in- good shopping, eating, etc.
Summit is another town that has a nice town center... also has train to NYC... renting options, etc.
Summit would be a great spot then... one of my favorite towns- a nice big center of town with great shopping/restaurants, etc. Close to maplewood- and not a far drive for your DH's job either.
Morristown would still be a good option, too - as it's right off of 287/24 that would get you to both of your jobs easily.
and yes- contact Liz! She knows this area the best!!
Ditto! Summit's a wonderful town and a good middle spot to Maplewood. Not sure how the rent is there, but I know house prices are high, but it's a gorgeous area. Good luck!
