Morning Traffic Question

How is traffic on I-25 North in Denver on a normal morning? I have an interview at 9am tomorrow downtown, I'll be coming from the springs and I'm trying to figure out what time I need to leave in morning.

I figure traffic is pretty busy from the springs until Castle Rock, but I have no idea once you get into Denver. I want to try to get as much sleep since I've been fighting off a cold all weekend. Any info would be helpful, thanks.

Re: Morning Traffic Question

  • Traffic moves from about Castle Rock to the Castle Pines exit and then it starts slowing down quite a bit through at least Lincoln/470 area.  When I used to work up by I-25 and Colorado it would take anywhere from 45-60 minutes to get there.
  • I'm coming the north end of Springs and the interview is on 18th & Wynkoop.

  • My experience is that you'll hit backups/traffic between Castle Rock & Lincoln, again in the DTC area, & then again in the Alameda/Santa Fe area due to the construction.

Good luck on your interview :)

no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
  • I would err on the side of a minimum two hour drive  and grab a cup of coffee somewhere if you end up being very early.  After Castle Rock you need to drive through the entire Tech Center, which can bee very congested.  Then you hit the slow down at Colorado Blvd.   And then there is major construction at Alameda, on top of the normal heavy traffic.  Some days it will be quick and easy and others are a nightmare.  Except for weather making it worse, there really isn't a good way to predict. I'll say this though.  A lot of people took Friday off because of the storm so I'd imagine traffic won't be light tomorrow.

I'm at Belleview and I-25 and always leave at least half an hour, in non rush hour conditions, to get to downtown.
  • I agree with wonderred.

     Good luck on your interview!
