Spoilery S2 Downton Abbey Thread anyone?

I'm thinking we might want to talk about each episode like we have with other TV shows. So what do we all think so far of S2 through tonight's new episode on PBS (ep 5)? I have lots of thoughts, of course. I was thinking if anyone wondered what DH's original infected pressure sore looked like that he got 7 years ago (when we were engaged/I was on the Knot) it looked very much like Matthew's wound when Clarkson was examining him. It was a different kind of wound, but still I gasped when I saw that because of the similarities. So much of the Mary/Matthew/Lavinia stuff in the last 2 episodes have been similar to what we've gone through. I think we do feel like we've been through a war together.

Oh and a PSA: Michelle Dockery (Mary) will be on the View tomorrow (Thu) at 11 AM Eastern with Viola Davis from the Help. MD will also be on Letterman tomorrow evening. I've seen the whole season already because during Christmas break I scoured the internet for episodes put online from the British airings. The season was so good!

What episode just aired? I don't want to talk about it without knowing first, I don't want to give anything away.

Hee-hee, you're as bad as me! I have seen it all, too. The last episode that aired is the Patrick/Peter episode.

Do you think it was really him or a con?

I thought he was a fraud. He seemed to almost be admitting he was in his last conversation with Edith. I think he realized they were onto him and his connection to Patrick. I think that's why he left soon after. I did feel badly for Edith in this one. I thought it was good to see her feelings be developed more, too. It was also a great opportunity for Mary to show her feelings for Matthew in the scene where she questions how he could possibly be Patrick. I also loved the M/M scene at the bench at the beginning. It reminded me of DH and me.
