Help me get my 20 month old used to me leaving the room

I don't mean for her to be alone for an extended period of time, but it would be nice to brush my teeth and get dresses while she sits in the tv room and plays or watches tv. If I walk out I get 30 seconds before she notices and then runs after me. I don't want her in my room because she is a baby klepto and has taken and lost a couple of expensive pieces of jewelry and my wallet.

Re: Help me get my 20 month old used to me leaving the room

  • Not sure if there is a way as Lil Sal is the same way and he is 2 1/2. I think it's just the child. Bella can play on her own and be left alone for an extended amount of time but not him. As for your jewlery and wallet..you just have to keep it out of reach. We need to do that as well otherwise things are lost for a while as they are put int he weirdest places.
  • i keep the twins in their cribs when i am getting ready (shower, dressed, makeup, etc)... they have books, some toys, and a DVD player in their room i'll put on if i'm going to take more than a few minutes.

they have no choice - crying doesn't get them out.... so they rarely cry when in there. They know i need to get ready :)

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
