How was your weekend?

Mine was pretty good. I drank a lot of wine and had a little time with Lorne Saturday night. I made yummy snacks yesterday, which was fun, and Lorne was off (though studying a lot) which is always nice. Nothing terribly special. A few friends and their kid came over for awhile during the Super Bowl, but they left after halftime.

Not officially, but also not TTA.  Does that make any sense?  I haven't been off the pill for 7 years and it sort of freaks me out to think what my body is going to do.

We were sick all weekend too, boo. Luckily I had it way worse than jack, but we are both on the mend now. Glad to hear E's ear tubes went well. A loopy baby sounds cute (not that I would want to see it for any reason other than necessary surgery). every time I get even a little sick, my mom asks me if I'm pregnant. She says so she can recommend the best meds, but I think she's still mad I didn't tell anyone until I was 10 weeks and she thought "moms should know right away!" I will probably tell her earlier next time just to make her happy. Random: I haven't spoken or seen ma since mid October and I'm loving it!!!!

I'm so sorry SB. I hope you get adjusted soon. But, I have seriously the MOST embarrassing story to share when I get back to a computer in a little bit. It may turn that grown upside down. I'm kind of sweating about sharing it because it's making me blush. But I will for you!

Omg, it's such a long story. Short version is she finally started showing the crazy that has always lurked underneath. She got very personally insulting towards me (saying I keep my house disorganized and messy and she's uncomfortable here and won't come, which is really looney because while it's not always perfect, it's definitely at least clean and uncluttered) also she said she can't remember having a single intelligent convo with me about anything, ever. Actually she wrote it in an email. Also my mom sent her a veterans day email(well everyone on my moms mailing list) about my great uncle bud who served and is still alive and she sent a ton of nasty texts to John, why are you bad mouthing me to your inlaws and I'm sick of her family ruining my life. John was like, omg, did you read the email? And she said no, I won't listen or read anything your wife and her family have to say. Now my family has had virtually zero interaction with them, so this was just . . , unexpected. Needless to say I realized I was dealing with a crazy person and decided to stop. There is a lot more of what happened, but my god I hate typing on the iPad.

Winged, I'm highly anticipating this.  It better be at least as good as the sherbet flavored yogurt I'm enjoying.  Which, I've got to warn you, is pretty damn good.

For your sake, I'm thrilled to bits that you have finally cut her out of your life and that it's as wonderful as you could have imagined.  But a small part of me will pour one out for all the Crazyass Ma stories that could have been.

No. He went there to talk with her a couple weeks ago to try and straighten things out but she is irrational and he is tired of dealing with her behavior. He's stressed out about it, basically feels like he has to wait until she dies to be free of her and have a relationship with his dad. She is pretty young, so . . . It just sucks for him. I on the other hand feel like acweight has been lifted, but I can choose to completely distance because she isn't my step mother. I guess I still stress about it a bit because of how he is affected.

My weekend was alright. My ankle was still terrible from when I sprained it at basketball last Sunday, but  I ruheeally wanted to play last night, so  I just got Heith to tape it up real good and  I played anyway. Probably not a smart choice - it was doing totally fine until near the end of the game when this goon shoved me over (we were in bonus, so foul shots, b*tch!). Now I'm all hurt-y today and trying not to complain because I brought it on myself.

My mom is currently in Hawaii with her gal friend, and without DenimLorne. Yay.

How is your relationship with your father-in-law?  I'd be really disgusted if my father's wife treated my spouse like Ma treats you, and my father had no reaction.

Nah, he and his dad communicate and have lunch and whatnot. His dad she is going thru menopause and it's been really tough on him too but he has definitely not backed John up as he should so john's hurt/disappointed in that too. But his dad turned a blind eye on the abuse that occurred during john's childhood too so we can't be too surprised . . . I keep urging him to seek counseling aboutbthis but he's kind of pig headed about not wanting to do that.

Yeah, Kay, john'smom is pissed, says she'd never let her h talk to me like that (not that he would). His dad said he loved and respected me right in front of ma and he told John he misses me, but also just sits and listens when she was being verbally abusive to us both. So yeah, he has issues too.

But on another note, was it your father or father-in-law who made an appearance on Hot Dog Paradise on the Travel Channel?  I watched it yesterday, and thought I remembered that.

Haha! My sfil. He was the guy with the grey hair and goatee who talked about the hotdogs like he wanted to marry them. We have a great relationship with h's mom and stepdad, in fact after this all went down John and his mom really reconnected and talked about the wedge ma drove between them in his childhood. Even thru this his mom doesn't bad mouth her and just wants John to be happy and have a good relationship with all of his family.

SHE CHANGED HIS NAME.  And everyone let her. That's all I've got.  All the other crazy pales in comparison to that.  The fact that he's not completely effed up speaks volumes for the strength of his character.

I can never tell the difference in Okla's hair.  It always looks like a lovely shade of medium blond.
