Lake Anna

Some friends and I are going for my birthday weekend. I am from that area (F'Burg), but I have never been to LA except when I was smaller. We're staying in a cabin (apparently with no TV Surprise)

What fun things are there in beginning/mid March time frame? Is F'Burg going to be the closest area to go to movies and stuff? SO and I have a dog so I am excited to go hiking and do some stuff outside if it isn't too cold.

Re: Lake Anna

  • My husband and I went to the winery there and really liked some of the wines!

I like the sound of this. How much was a wine tasting?

  • our best friends have a cabin on LA and we've been going down there several weekends each summer for about 8 years now. I'm not gonna lie, there really isn't much to do there if you're not going out on the water. The Lake Anna winery is nice and definitely worth a visit, but the wines will probably not blow you away ;-)

Lake Anna State park does have a good number of trails...none that I've found to be too challenging (which is a good thing for me, lol). And it is pretty around there.

Lake Anna is pretty massive and so depending on where you are staying you might be closer to Richmond (?). Our friend's cabin is technically in Spotsylvania County, but it's only about 30-40 min from the Short Pump area of Richmond. There is a big, nice new mall and surrounding shopping centers. I know there is a movie theater and lots of restaurants (although mostly chains) around there.
