17 month old - Fighting meal time?

DD always loves chicken fingers and the other night at dinner, she started throwing them. So we though maybe she was over it and tried something new. She throws her pasta now too. She refuses to eat ANYTHING unless its her lunch food (chesse sandwich, bagel w/ cream cheese, bean wrap, etc). She won't eat any veggies, fruits, or meats we give her. For a while she would eat what we had for dinner, so it was easy for us to all eat the same thing. She just refuses now and throws such a tantrum...shes 17 months and I think its normal for this age to act out, but im concerned shes not eatting enough and then also not getting the right amount of nutrients, etc....Has anyone else gone through this? Any tips on getting LO to eat again would be great. Thanks

Re: 17 month old - Fighting meal time?

  • i give the boys whatever they will eat.  jack is like a human vacum, he'll literally eat anything.  ben, not so much.  there are a lot of pancakes going on at every meal and he'll eat a yogurt.  that's about all i can rely on.

give her whatever she wants but still offer the other foods as well.  it's just a phase.

proof that i make babies. jack, grace, and ben, in no particular order

  • My son has always fought mealtime.  He is 26 months old and only 22/3 lbs.  But everyone has assured me he will eat when he is hungry.  He is growing at his own rate.

So far today he has eaten a small bowl of grapes and a small bowl of raisins.  He has had 2 small sippy cups of milk and a small sippy cup of water.  I try not to stress about it b/c it only makes it worse.

When they are hungry they will eat.

Where in world would you like me to ship you? image My boys - I am so screwed in about 7 years. What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? LIPSTICK !
