Are Bra's Vanity Sizing Now?

I went last weekend to Nordstrom Rack to get some new bras, since it's one of the only places that carries my bra size.

I've been a 32C for years.  But the 4 different brands I tried were all too small.  I had to go up to a 32D (which fit perfectly).  What the heck?  Has vanity sizing hit bra's too?

Re: Are Bra's Vanity Sizing Now?

  • I don't think so.  I shop at SOL for my bras and have been a consistent 32F/34E for years.

  • I don't think it's vanity sizing. It might be that different brands or different styles in the same brand fit differently. Also, I'm not always the size I expect because my bras seem to stretch out.  Like I'll feel like mine is too big, but when I try a on a new bra, that same size fits fine because it hasn't stretched out.

  • I think so but think it depends on the brand.  Soma, for example, tried to tell me I was a B.  Sure, in an alternate universe.  I am barely an A and that is evident.  You can also try a bigger band size, so 34C.  I know my band size went up after having kids.
