What else do I need to buy/ship?

We're making a list for our trip to Florida. Taking the kids. We'll be in a hotel but visiting family and friends every day, so not Disney or anything.

We are planning to buy a fisher price healthy booster seat travel highchair thingy because we figure it would just be easier to ship a new one from Amazon to grandma's house and use it when we are in restaurants and at homes, rather than packing and shlepping ours from NY.  I really don't want to deal with strollers, diaper bags, carry on toys and games, our luggage and a high chair! We'll leave it there at grandma's or dh's cousin can have it (just had a second baby and they could probably use a second one in a few months anyway).

i'd like to send an inflatable tub for the hotel, but i have no clue how we'd inflate it and i don't want to buy a pump. is it totally stupid to inflate it at a gas station using their air pump?

what else would you buy/ship ahead?

Re: What else do I need to buy/ship?

  • why do you need to buy a tub?  don't they have one in your room?

    i'd ship diapers and wipes.

because hotel tubs skeeve me out - and i don't like the thought of Sam sitting in one Sad At least Ava stands to shower.

great-grandma wants to buy diapers. She is somewhat excited by it so I'm letting her get that joy - lol!

  • Diapers. I find it easier to only carry one days worth and buy there.

Personally I'm off te mindset that hotel bathrooms get cleaned a lot more frequently then mine at home sadly.

But you could just bring a tub mat if you don't want her sitting in the tub.

  • Hotel tubs gross me out too - I always use the inflatable duck tub from BRU that you just blow up yourself, it just takes a minute. If you take it out of the box, its pretty small and flat so I dont think you'd need to ship it, just stuff it in your luggage somewhere.
  • lol. hotel tubs are cleaned way more often than mine :) If it really bugs you, I'd get a dollar store non-slip mat. Easy to pack + cheap.
  • I don't bother with shipping since it packs pretty small deflated but we brought a little blow up pool for A when we went on a cruise to use as a bathtub since our room only had a shower stall. it was like 30" in diameter. We just blew it up by mouth. I think it was the $5 one from target. I would just pack 1-2 days of diapers/wipes and buy more when I got down there.   Shipping the seat is a good idea. Are you doing rental car w/ carseats or bringing yours with you?

  • rental carseats that we have to install - at least one's a booster so that goes in fast!

Sorry, I don't know the exact age of your youngest, but can't she shower?  Or just stand in the tub and you can rinse her off with the water running and use a cup or something.  Does she need to have a full bath?

  • I agree about bath matt.  I usually get a cheap one, use it on vaca and then toss it when we leave.

she's 15 months and i can hardly get her to stand so i can clean her backside. she loves the bath - so much that we have to keep the bathroom door closed because she tries to get into the tub. i cannot imagine her standing.

lol! I totally just snorted! I guess Josie is weird because she's been showering on and off since 14 months, she thinks it's fun.  I use it now as a "treat" because she loves it so much and prefers it to bathing with her sister!
