Anyone's kid a leftie and you're a rightie?

It looks like K is going to be a leftie. My husband is a leftie and his handwriting is appalling, but I'm clueless how to help teach her how to write. She wants to try to write her name when she sees me doing it, but I can't seem to wrap my brain around telling her how to hold a crayon properly.

Anyone have tips?

I am a lefties with two righties. Its a paint o show them how to hold a pencil or tie their shoes :-)

I am a righty with a leftie kid...i didn't remember teaching him to use a pencil though, so i don't know what i did.

We're both righties, but my son is using his left hand a lot, to color and eat, etc.  He uses his right also, but not as much.  We hope he is ambidextrous, lol.  He's only 2.5, so I think he's still too young to tell.

I'm pretty sure my DS is a Leftie, but since he's only 2.5 I know it's possible he's not. I guess I'll see in a few years. But he prefers holding a fork/spoon with his left hand and mostly colors with it too. Hopefully my BFF will help me with writing as she is a Leftie.

I'm a rightie, she's a leftie. Honestly, it's never been an issue. Maybe she's a genius, or she goes to the Harvard of preschools, but she just figured out how to hold a pen/crayon without much intervention on my part.

i'm a rightie, dave is a leftie, and dietrich is most definitely a leftie. dave writes without the "lefthanded hook" so hopefully he can show dietrich how to do it. my left hand is so awkward when it holds a pen!

you tilt your page at a 90 degree angle and hook your arm over to write on it. I do it sometimes.
