Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

I know it's been asked a bunch of times. I've done some research online and went to Best Buy to try them out, but I just can't decide which one is better. Any advice you have would be great.

Re: Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

  • I just got the Kindle Fire. So far, the only thing I don't like is that I can't change the main sign in screen. You do need a wireless router if you want to get on the internet. Other than that, I like it. I already had a kindle so I just upgraded.

  • It really depends on what you might do with it...we were deciding between the 2 right before Christmas to get one for my mom and overall the reviews were good for both with the exception of a LOT of complaints about the sensitivity of the touch screen on the Kindle Fire.  So we decided against that one and got the Nook Tablet, which my mom loves so far.  But if you are planning on doing a lot of movies or shows from Amazon's Video feature, then you might want to go with the Kindle Fire.  Look up the reviews and see what strikes you, I don't think you can go wrong with either one!  People love both!  Also I believe the Nook Tablet has a larger storage capacity, which we liked.

  • Here's a good review: http://www.pcworld.com/article/244282/kindle_fire_vs_nook_tablet_which_should_you_buy.html

Try googling "kindle fire vs. nook tablet" - there are a bunch of side-by-side reviews out there.

I tend to think it comes down to if you're a loyal amazon person, and what specifically you're looking to do on it.

I'm leaning towards the nook, but I haven't decided yet either.

  • I love the Nook Tablet so far.... I got it for Christmas.

I agree- depends on what you like/use a lot.  I read online that it is easier to read on the Nook's screen. So that's why I got it.

However, more people I know have the Kindle so it would have been nice to be able to lend books with them
