LTP-you'd be proud!

I went to the grocery store, stuck to my alloted budget and list, and only dropped $80 on groceries!  I have to admit, it was so thrilling to spend so little that I am going to try to lower the amount next time.  I could quickly see this becoming an addiction but at least it's one that's friendly to my wallet!

Meals this week are based around the frozen chicken breasts I have in the freezer, and the screaming deal I got on a huge package of chicken thighs which were only $6.05 for 10!

It is good to hear that it is going well for you.  I can't wait to try this starting next week.

  • lol, YAY, you!!

I'm happy because I've managed to stay under $115 for four weeks in a row and I'm hardly throwing out any food at all.

Yay for you!  I am making myself wash and chop up all produce (liike cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, etc.) so it's ready to go in the fridge, and I'm storing everything in plastic containers.  That way there will be minimal wasting!

  • If you're really trying to cut costs, breakfast for dinner is hella cheap, and eggs fill all the same dietary requirements as meat.  Bonus cheapskate points if you buy your eggs on the cheap from someone who just has pet chickens.

Great tip!  And I like the farm fresh eggs much better and they're better for baking.
