**Peanut1334 re: Block Island**

Hey..I was looking at Block Island. We've stayed in Naragansett & Newport. We LOVE it up there. We haven't done Block Island as a family..is it worth it to stay there?

Last time we want to take the ride over, but didn't.

TIA

  • I'm just butting in.  I've been to Block Island for the day and honestly that's all you really need.  It's very pretty but there isn't much to do there.  Especially with little kids, it may be tough to fill the time.
  • butting in as well.  I've been to BI twice.  Once for the day & once at a B&B.  DH & I were kind of bored since there really isn't much to do.

It's really pretty, but I wouldn't go up there specifically for it.

  • Thanks..if we go we'll just plan to go there for a day.
  • Hi..sorry I just saw this now. We go there as a family with my SIL's kids too and rent a house (this will be our 4th year). The kids ages are 9,3, 2, and a soon to be newborn.

I saw the other posts, BI is more of a natural entertainment vacay. We explore the different beaches, one beach has clay like sand that can be shaped, another has a lot of large pebbles to collect, tide pools to explore, etc. go on some trails, park ourselves on a sandy beach and drink alot of wine and margaritas on the front porch. We specifically go to BI to get away from "it all". GL!
