~Carrot~ S/O Bra Sizing Question
Hmmm...I saw your response to the bra size post and would love to hear your thoughts. I have been sized twice and both times I love the bra in the store, but hated them once I had to wear them at home.
Post kids, I *think* I'm a 34 nearly C, but that is pretty darn hard to find - I'd love to hear what other sizes to try. A 32D might work for me?

Re: ~Carrot~ S/O Bra Sizing Question
I'm just going to thrown in my 2 cents. I measured myself years ago, and for a long time wandered around in a 36B (because the internet was wrong about how to measure bra size). I suffered AWFUL back pain, and finally got measured and was a 34D. Problem solved, my upper back pain all but vanished. Until I had kids. Now I'm a 36G (I got measured at Nordstrom and Bosom Buddies, where they are awesome).
What are your actual numbers? Under bust, bust, etc? That will help you figure out what size you should be in. GL!

So I was also measured at Nordstroms and they said 34C or 36B, but a 36 around is way too big and I spend all this time pulling it down - neither seems like they fit well. Victoria Secrets said 34D, but my boobs feel all floppy in the cups (full cup also). I know not very useful...all I know is that I have a 36B, 34C, 36C, and 34D bras and they all move around while I wear them. All have problems, but the C and D cups are not completely filled out and the 36-bands move all over the place.
I just measured (roughly) at it's about 30 to 30-1/4 inches on my band area and I'm about 34-1/2 to 35 inches across my band area (but I'm wearing a 36C today). From a chart I looked at those measurements should be like a 34-36 and a D-DD, but as I said, my D-cup bras are not filled out?! Is the internet wrong again?

I shop at SOL. One they are the only store in town that carries my size. Two thier stuff is GORGEOUS!!!!! Three the staff knows what they are doing. Four they do alteration for free. So if the bra doesn't fit perfect they can alterit so it is perfect. Check out thier website for some really good info on how a bra should fit.

Sorry I'm just now seeing this! Nordstrom is usually good but maybe you got a "bad" fitter. NEVER go to Victoria's Secret to get fitted. They are notoriously wrong and they will only tell you you're a size they carry. None of their bras fit me at all.
I would recommend going to a specialty shop like Bosom Buddies (near that Chipotle/Which Wich/across from Barnes and Noble near Park Meadows) or SOL or that bra shop in Park Meadows that's in a strip mall. I feel like there's a Toys 'R Us right nearby. I can't think of the name. Someone fill in my blanks.
Those ladies will fit you and bring you bra after bra until one fits perfectly. Depending on the brand, you could be a different size. 34s are often too big for me but some 32s are way too big. I'm typically a 34D or 32DD but it always depends on the brand and the bra.
I'm curious why you love the bra at the store but hate it at home. Do you just have to get used to it? For instance, are you used to wearing super sexy bras but then end up purchasing a full coverage bra that fits perfectly but feels differently?
I'm obsessed with proper fitting bras so feel free to ask any other questions! Almost everyone who is professionally fitted (and not at VS!!) is a different size than they think they are.
I definitely don't think you're a 36 band so I would ditch all of those. When you say that you're not filling out your Ds, do you mean your 36Ds? That D cup is way bigger than a 32 D cup. Not all Ds are created equally. You'll probably be like me ... some 32s are way too small and some 34s are way too big. Have you tried really good brands like Wacoal, Chantelle, etc. A good bra makes all the difference. The bra should not move around at all once you're in it. I put my bra on in the morning and don't adjust it once all day. I don't even think about it being there.
Btw - here was the store I was thinking of. NOT cheap but they can size you and make you a bra expert then you can hit up Nordstrom Rack for some great bras at a fraction of the price. Just be aware that you may buy a different size in different brands. Notice the fit more than the size but it'll be a similar size like a 32DD/34D.

They have all kinds of Internet specials so watch for those.
Yeah, both times I've been fitted I've ended up buying an underwire-type bra and it felt good for the 15min I try it on in the store, but is not comfortable for an entire day. I think underwires are great for going out and spending about 4 hours in them, but I'm a soft-cup girl, so then the ones I buy elsewhere are not fitting as well.
It's a bummer that I didn't get sized again last time I was in Denver...now I'm about 300 miles from a Nordstroms in MT, but I can probably go to a boutique in Bozeman that specializes in fittings. It's good to know that one bra size will NOT be the same in every bra.
Thanks...I'll have to update you guys when I get fitted or if I go try a bunch of different styles/types on at our small town Macy's.

Ohhh, I get it. Well, if I leave the house, I'm in an underwire - period. I guess they probably take some getting used to but I was used to them by the time I was 12. They probably are uncomfortable if you're used to soft cups. You can still find some of those that will work but I think underwire is the gold standard.
Any bra boutique will be able to help. There will be some pushy lady with a tape measure around her neck that thinks nothing of seeing you topless. Those ladies always know what they're talking about. Also, if you find a bra you love, go ahead and buy four of them. Finding a perfect bra is not easy so hop on it when you do. GL!
