have we talked about this blog?

http://prebabyblog.com/2012/02/introducing-alexis/

They've been talking about this over on ML, and I've read her blog a few times in the past.

I want to know how she was able change into her regular pads and undies the second day in the hospital.  Seriously, I was in the ugly mesh and hospital pads for at least a week!  It think I'm calling bullsh*t on this one.

Re: have we talked about this blog?

  • Eh. I don't understand why so many boards bash her. Yeah, some of the stuff she says seems crazy, but so many people are posting horribly mean stuff on her fb. Its ridiculous. We were all first time moms once.

I think her latest post was nice, because it actually seemed "normal". It doesn't seem like she edited all the photos to make them look perfect like before.

  • Honestly, who leaves the hospital wearing a dress like that? Let alone a white one at that!

  • I was really surprised by her hospital bag haul-that is a LOT of stuff! A blow up mattress and tarp? Oy!

I suppose each person will have their own preferences about how they want their birth to go, what they bring to help them, etc, but this lady just seemed a little extreme with it all.

I have heard though that some women preferred their own panties and pads, but to each their own I suppose!

  • Also, what is up with the $80 hospital gown is her post partum bag? lol Seems like a waste to me!
  • I was one that used my own underwear and pads after birth. I didn't like the hospital ones because they were so huge that they were rubbing my lady bits and with Owen, i had stitches. I was scared out of my mind that something would happen. Stitches freak me out. With Amelie I had no stitches and felt great. I just changed a bit more frequently to cut down on the bulk. I must admit though, the underwear was nasty old Hanes underwear that I wore once I got too fat for my regular undies. (read: granny panties)

Haha I too took my granny panties I bought at 36 weeks (nothing else fit!). I ended up with a cs so the extra space was nice. I would have done better with my own pads.. Those at the hospital were HUGE!

  • I forgot to add..

If I felt that good about my post baby body, I'd wear that dress! I would have killed to not have any kind of waist band near me for a long while!  That dress, while pouch hugging screams freedom. A more loose fitting maxi style dress is definitely on my list for the next baby

Belly Armor?! Maybe I'm the bad mom but that just caught me off guard.

  • I brought boxer briefs to the hospital.
  • That was her most normal post of them all!

When reading blogs, I always try to remember that people can portray any type of persona they want and of course they're going to tell us how wonderful everything is, you know?  The truly honest blogs are few & far between.

That said, I'm interested to see how this all shakes out.  Trainwreck at its finest!

  • I read a little bit of it... she sounds boring with not much substance.   I'm probably not going to read it again and waste any time.
