Checking Accounts with Rewards

We have had M&T Bank for years.  I liked them before they were local to us, and we got points for using our card.  (Like credit card rewards but with the checking account).  Well dumb me just realized they stopped the rewards in AUGUST!?!  So I have stopped earning, and now am annoyed, we rarely use credit cards and so I don't want to switch to that.  

 Anyone get rewards for checking?  No fee also for checking account?  I would like a branch vs online only.

My Chase debit card gives rewards. I don't know by you, but there are tons Chase branches by. We LOVE them. Had a mortgage with them, auto loans, checking and saving and credit cards.

I will look into them, they are actually next door to my bank now.  We get a ton of offers for free money to join them, so I just may, even if I start the switch before going all out.

Chase stopped their debit rewards program as well. You'll notice you haven't accrued points in 5-6 months, despite receiving emails stating how to gain double and triple points.

Chase stopped the rewards program in July. 

So mad.

Most banks stopped offering rewards programs when the new banking laws went into effect. They cut the fees banks could charge and the banks cut rewards from the accounts. I set out to find one when I realized everything was changing but I could only find ones where your average balnce had to be 50K or 100K and the interest sucks so not worth the rewards accrual.  Use a CC for everything and pay it off monthly. to earn rewards. However most have moved to a less then favorable earning method.
