what dessert to make for work
Every month, I make a dessert to bring into work for a meeting we have. I usually make cakes or cupcakes, because they are easier for me to transport. I asked the woman leading the meeting this month what she'd like me to bring in, and she said that she doesn't eat cake (um, who the heck doesn't eat cake?) or peanut butter. I'd like to accomodate this, but I can't think of something to make.
Any suggestions? Links to recipes, appreciated. Thanks!
Re: what dessert to make for work
That sounds delicious, but it's very similar to brownies I made a few months ago that are chocolate chip cookie dough, oreos and brownie batter. {OMG, those were absolute heaven. And people in the office raved about them.}

Oatmeal fudge bars are a hit at my office. I leave the nuts out and melt the chocolate mixture in the microwave. Its better to slightly underbake. And if you're creative, you can make designs out of the oatmeal mixture that you add to the top of the chocolate layer. I've made a flower, double rings for a bridal shower, 40 for a Birthday, etc.
1 (12 oz.) package chocolate chips 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
3 Tablespoons margarine ? cup nuts (chopped)
2 teaspoons vanilla
Melt chips, margarine, and milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Let cool.
1 cup margarine 2 ? cups flour
2 cups brown sugar 1 teaspoon soda
2 eggs 1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla 3 cups quick oatmeal
? cup chopped nuts
Cream sugar, margarine, and eggs. Add vanilla. Add flour, soda, salt, nuts, and oatmeal. Pat 2/3 of this mixture in the bottom of a greased 10 x 16 inch pan. Pour chocolate mixture over this. Sprinkle remaining dough over the chocolate. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-23 minutes. Do not overbake.

::whispering:: i dont really like cake most of the time.
can you do a trifle in small disposable cups? you could put them into the cupcake holder to transport.
Serendipity Deluxe Bars
Chewy frosted sugar cookies
Sweet and salty cookies
Ahh this was what I was going to suggest. I made them for the superbowl and everyone raved about them.
This chocolate chip cookie delight is amazing...but it does need to be refridgerated.
Or how about M&M blondies, you could do Valentine's m&ms
What about creamhorns? I used thick wooden dowels instead of the creamhorn molds because I couldn't find them. They were pretty easy and very yummy:

Cappuccino Brownies
Nutella Cheesecake Brownies
Apricot Walnut Bars
Mini Black & White Caramel Cheesecakes

I like the M&M blondie idea!
Also, what about:
Lemon Bars
Platter of cookies-choc chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar cookie
Homemade candy-toffee, fudge, truffles
I make granola bars with enough sweet stuff in them that people mistake them for a dessert.
