I was just thinking about you and your family. I hadn't noticed any mor updates on your nephew. How did his additional testing go? Still praying for you guys.
Re: VaaaJeana
Additional testing showed no leukemia. So we are very thankful for that.
The following week, he was still spiking a fever so they took him to Children's ER and he was admitted. It ended up with strep and an abscess near his tonsils. They treated it with antibiotics via the IV for a few days and finally had to go in and drain the abscess.
As of right now, he is completely healthy...fever free and feeling great.
He goes back this week for a follow-up from all of that. The tests of the fluid/infection/tissue they took during the procedure came back abnormal. Personally, I believe it SHOULD have came back this way because it was an infected pocket of pus...but my SIL told us that when she spoke with the doctor they stated, "We can't rule out cancer."
Now, I am very skeptical that it is cancer. It isn't a tumor or a mass. It was a pocket of infection that is now gone. The fluid and tissue were, of course, infected. Any lab tests that came back SHOULD have been of the abnormal variety.
Just not sure what to think at this point. I get updates from my brother and he assures me he is doing well.
Thank you for thinking of us. All the prayers were wonderful!
I will email you!
