Do I...

...give my H his birthday gift tonight, or wait until his actual birthday on Thursday?

Normally, I would wait. But here's the thing: The gift is huge and heavy, and in my car. I can't move it on my own. It's a training bag (punching bag) that is 70 lbs. that is in a big and awkward box. I had it delivered to my brother's house and I went over to pick it up while H was at class tonight. He put it in my car for me, and now, I can't get it out.

There's a really good chance that H will see it in my car tomorrow morning. He always loads my car for me (with Nora's bag and such), and will often lean in to say goodbye to Nora after I've put her in the car. I had to put one of the rear seats down (I have a Honda CR-V) to fit the damn thing in there, so part of the box is butted up right up against the side of Nora's seat. In other words, it's not inconspicuous.

SOOO... do I give it to him early (when he gets home tonight) to be able to do it on my own terms? Or do I chance it, hoping that he somehow won't see it before Thursday night? The only thing is that if he sees it in the morning, he will know exactly what it is without even opening it.

*sigh* WWYD? :)

Re: Do I...

  • I'd go ahead and give it to him. I'm sure he'll understand once he sees t.

    I agree.

  • LOL, thanks ladies. He just got home and is in the shower. Now, I just need to think of an excuse to get him to go outside and open up my car... :)

I'd just say that I have something in the car I couldn't carry in myself.

Good idea and I agree with giving it to him early.

I'm very jealous of your H's gift. I want a bag for our basement so bad!

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • So, did you give it to him? :-)

  • I did! He was surprised, and was very excited about it.

I'm glad I gave it to him, as he definitely would've seen it in my car this morning.

Thanks for the nudge, girls. :)
