Kids climbing crib

I have a MAJOR climber.  She will climb or hang from anything.  The other day she climbed up the slats and was just laughing.  Today I find out that she was hanging on the other side of the crib (on the outside)  How the heck can she do that seriously?  Shes not a year but climbs on everything and anything. matress as low as possible....do I switch to the toddler bed?

Re: Kids climbing crib

  • Yikes! I would probably do a crib tent before the toddler bed since she is so little still.

  • Put her in one of the Halo sleep sacks with leg holes. It might make her too slick to scale the bars. I don't think she is ready for the toddler bed at that age. The crib tent is a good idea, too.
  • Another vote for the Halo sleep sacks. We've been using them since DD gave up being swaddled. They make it so she can't "get a leg up" to climb out...although I fear big girl bed transition is imminent at our house...

  • Ive tried the sleep sacks and she just screams and kicks to try and get out last night. Im not kidding she would probally try and climb and hang from the netting.
  • My H likes to joke about a large piece of plywood laid/nailed over the top of the whole crib...

  • I've heard of people removing the "springs layer" and placing the mattress directly on the floor.
