any updates on your crazy lady in your building?

Re: penguingirl

  • Oh yes! Sorry! It was quiet for a while then one night last week we were eating dinner and heard the door the the apt above ours slam. A few minutes later we heard commotion in the hallway, DH opened the door and the woman was upstairs pounding on that door shouting "get out! get out! get out!" The entire next day her door was vaguely ajar. The morning after that, with her door still ajar, police knocked on our door asking if anyone had heard from her in the past 24 hours. We said we had heard from her about 36 hours before, so they were not able to enter her unit for a welfare check. The entire next day her door was still ajar then around 1 in the morning we were woken up by a very loud slam. The next morning her door was shut.

Thursday some business passed out postcards around our building, stuck in the doors. It would fall out if the door  were open and hers is still there, so yesterday I sent an email to the landlord asking if  she's still there and whether there needs to be a welfare check and haven't gotten a response yet.

So, yeah, 5 more months than a return to suburban (semi)normalcy!!! Thanks for asking!

  • Sorry your dealing with all of this. I hope you follow up with the landlord. She needs help and it's sad she isn't getting it.

  • Thanks. I'm torn between really wanting her to get help and making sure it happens and wanting someone this volatile out of the building because I worry about my family's safety. It's a no win, because once she is out I'll be worried about where she is and hoping she's not continuing to slip through the cracks.
