Kitchenaid Mixer Question

So, DH and I agreed on getting a kitchen aid mixer with our tax refund.  Can those that have them make a case on the following:

 I can get a professional 575 watt 5.5 quart for $249, or I can get a 4 quart standard for $199.

We do want to get the pasta maker attachment if that matters.

Anything else I should be looking at/thinking about?

Re: Kitchenaid Mixer Question

  • Bigger is always better.  :)

I would for certain get the professional because you want to make pasta and the stronger motor will be good.

  • Definitely get the professional.  I have the pasta roller and the standard and the motor burned out while using it Sad  The mixer worked again the next day when cooled down, but I am afraid to use the attachment again.

Given how handy you are, you can fix your mixer.  You can order the gears and there are youtube videos on how to fix the mixers.

Nice!  Kitchen Aid's customer service was crap when I called them at the time this happened.  Didn't know I could do a fix on it!
