This is the main story on yahoo.com now. I can't believe it is that big of a story!
Re: Re Kyle Dyer bit by dog
Unfortunate all around. I'm sorry that it happened but she shouldn't have been in the dogs face, the original video is on YouTube.
Hope she's alright and that the dog doesn't take the fall for her poor choice.
This just ticks me off. The owner not only got cited for something that happened previously, but may also lose his baby. He would have been better off not going on the news That poor dog is probably so scared to be away from his owner, especially after the chaos that morning and from the lake.

Anyone else noting that the irony that CBS is headlining a story about an NBC news anchor?
And that poor dog. I feel so bad for him! He must be so scared and confused
Bazinga!
Liz's Yarn
I think it looks like he is growling before the clip even starts. And yet, she continues to pet and move forward. Granted, it's a short clip in slow motion so it's hard to get a good idea. But I think they push it too far on T.V with most animals in order to get a good shot. I feel bad for that poor dog. He has already been through enough with out all these back to back interviews. then a bunch of strangers are getting right in his face all the time. Everyone has their limits. Sad, somone had to get injured for that be be understood.
I'm thinking that Yahoo must show stories based on location and previous searches, kind of how Google tailors searches. I say this because it's not the lead story or even on the front page for me and I'm out of the market.
I agree, though it is hard to tell. The bite was his way of giving a warning. If he had truly meant to attack he wouldn't have been so easily restrained. Just shitty all the way around. But at least Kyle Dyer will be back with her family tonight.
I think she only got immediate reconstructive care because her face is her work trade. It wasn't because her lip was ripped off or anything horrific like that. You or I would have gotten stitches and been sent home and dealt with the scaring later.
Here's the newest clip from the 9-News facebook page. They cut before the bite, but dog looks perfectly happy and relaxed with her. I think it probably happened crazy fast.
Ditto this. She shouldn't have been all up in the dog's face.
I think the dog seemed fine before the quick show of teeth before he struck. There is a high pitch noise just at that time too in the clip, wonder if that set him off among the other stressors.
I was bitten in the head by a doberman when I was 8 or so and dd1 was bit in the lip by XMIL's pound puppy that she sports a scar to this day from. In both cases neither dog had been traumatized before the bites and I think it was just being in their space.
I like the Westword blog showing the video stating that it's wrong of 9news to not show it and ask NBC not to on the Today show for the sake of KD and her co-workers who are upset, siting that they didn't extend the same consideration to family/friends of victims caught on survellience cameras being hit by a driver-one of whom went airborne.
Married Bio
I just posted a blog and a video that shows all the warning signs the dog gave. Some of them I didn't realize, like the licking of his lips. Just sad all the way around. Anyway, I mention it because there is so much to be learned about safety around dogs.
