I took him to the vet today for his 1-week follow-up. Apparently the wound from his removal hasn't healed at all and has, in fact, developed into an oronasal fistula. (Essentially there's a passageway between his nasal cavity and his mouth via the tooth cavity)
So now we have to go back for follow-up on Friday, Monday, and Wednesday. If it hasn't healed at all by next week, Dr. K will be considering surgery again to use a skin flap to close the wound.
If she doesn't think she'll be able to perform the surgery, there's a veterinary teaching hospital less than an hour from here, so I'll ask for a referral then. But I really don't want to put Cat through another surgery at all, so if you'd be so kind as to send good mouth/nasal healing juju our way, I'd appreciate it.
