S/O Dance Moms

A friend of mine owns a dance studio in Cypress.  She got the following email from a dance competition:

  It has also become necessary to assure my clients that the "DANCE MOMS" group will NOT be at {comptition}. This television show has moved from being simply distasteful to being bad for business when viewers may believe this "reality" show actually depicts Dance Studios or Dance Competitions. The Texas {competition} is a well-attended event and we would LOVE to welcome you and your NICE Dance Moms.

I thought it was funny but apparently there is a movement to boycott any competition where ALM will be attending.

WOW! very interesting to know! And I totally don't blame them for boycotting, ALM treats her students HORRIBLY (like seriously, verbally abusive) and those moms act so ridiculous!

I have friends with daughters in dance in the ALM area and Greensboro, where they traveled to compete.  Apparently the competitions they are attending (to be filmed) aren't that reputable anyway and they are having to travel pretty far away from home nowdays to find competitions that will even allow them to film.
