Anyone been to Nashville?

We're going to need to make a trip out there in June to check on my brother's house.  He's paying so we're going! ;) (He's in Clarksville which I believe is about 30 minutes from Nashville)

Anyway, any sightseeing recs for daytime with the kids and nightime recs for without?

Re: Anyone been to Nashville?

  • I went for a girls weekend, so I'm not sure about kid friendly things.  But for an adults night out you should go downtown to the bars - every single bar has a live band, even if you aren't into country music, it's awesome!!!  It's just really laid back and casual and there are no bad bands playing (better ones play later though).  It's one bar after another so visit a few.

  • I second what the pp said. I stopped there on a road trip one time and the live music was incredible. The downtown scene was really fun!
  • Hi.  My sister lives in Clarksville, TN.  It is about an hour to downtown Nashville where all the bars and Opryland are.

There are tons of things to do.  Clarksville is a huge military town so there are a ton of restaurants and stores around.

Nashville has Opryland, The *** of the Walk, Opryland Outlets (BassPro is huge there / Gibson Guitar).  Downtown Nashville has a million bars to choose from that any given night have great music. There is a zoo there too if you're bringing kids.

  • Nest Edit -   C - O - C - K of the Walk has some of the best fried catfish for dinner.

There is also Centennial Park.  It has the Parthenon building.

Riverfront Park is nice to walk around and a cute carousel for the kids.

Let me know if you need anything else.  I can alway ask my sister.  She's in downtown Nashville this week for work.

  • Thanks ladies! I have heard that the music scene is awesome there.  Going to talk to my aunt to see if she wants to come down with us so we can get to see the night life.
