TOTW question (tmi kinda)

Hello! If you don't recognize me I'm sorry - I consider myself a lurker who occasionally comes out with a random question and has to always reintroduce myself. Whoops.

We just switched our dog Bruce (2 y/o pit mix) from Natural Balance grain-free (Alpha dog) to TOTW. I think we got him the venison one but I'm not even sure. He loves the food and it's a lot more affordable, so yay! Anyway he used to be kind of a poop machine and go within a few minutes of going outside, in the morning and after we get home from work. Now it takes him FOREVER and it's rather small, at least comparatively. Can I chalk this up to the fact that he's on a better food, or should I be concerned? Do you think it's possible he only needs to go once per day now?

Re: TOTW question (tmi kinda)

  • The same thing happened when we put my pup on TOTW.  I love it - Her poops are like clock-work now!  She does one in the morning and one at night, she's still eating 3 meals a day for now.

  • No, it sounds fine.  His body is likely utilizing what's in the food better, which is a good thing.  As long as everything's still normal when it comes out, no need for concern.

    Agreed.

  • We switched Dex last week and he has actually almost been the opposite!  It is def firmer, but he is like a pooping machine now!  No complaints because it has been real solid, but it went from like 2 to 5 times a day!
