I've been engorged for a solid week now after weaning for a month. I've tried everything- cabbage leaves, ice packs, advil, decongestant. I'm in major pain. I don't think it's infected because I have no fever or redness but it is definitely clogged and it's hard for me to even hold the baby. I feel like my body won't stop producing milk. I keep complaining to my mom so she tells me to call the Dr. I just don't know what the heck they are going to do for me.
Re: Would you call the Dr?
Call. I had a clog so bad (not while weaning, while actively nursing) that i couldn't move my arm. When I finally got it unclogged I literally pumped 2 full bottles on that one side! And then I was so sore for weeks. And I had a milk blister to go with it.
Anyway, I would have called the doc if I hadn't got it unclogged when I did.
