We have a 40th birthday party tomorrow night, a Friday night, that starts at 8:30 p.m.
To me, that's a really late start on a Friday night.
Does anyone agree or am I just old?
P.S. Another girl who is going said the same thing as me, so I know I'm not totally alone!
Re: Am I just old?
i guess they are thinking that for a friday night there needs to be some time for those that work to get home, get dressed, and travel tot he party.
i have also been to a few parties that start at that time. i go to bed early the day before and day after and take it easy on party day.
have fun , and enjoy the party.
haha! this! I am a 10pm bedtime person! LOL.

I was also thinking this:
And yes, you are old, my love.
fridays are tough for me BUT. it would give me time to get home and get the kids settled and time for me to get ready and in my case probally get downtown (which can take us up to 40 mins) is it a bit late for my liking sure...but logistically it would be perfect for me
I agree. I am 41 and usually in bed by 9:30pm. It's partly due to working full time with 2 toddlers exhausting me. So I would be falling asleep shortly after the party started.
I remember in college we didn't first go out until 10pm!

i don't think it's late for a friday night, i think it likely includes a lot of people with kids and at this hour you can get home from work, give the kids dinner, and maybe even put them to bed before having a sitter come. sounds totally ideal to me actually.
if it started that late on a saturday, i'd say it's late considering it'd be just as easy to get there earlier.
This. I love doing the late night out thing once Ina while
