Motivate me, please

I cannot get the motivation to tag my stuff for TANKC...and I have yet to give up the newborn baby boy stuff (yes, I packed it away...after four kids....)

Somebody motivate me please.. I have a ton of stuff and it is overwhelming me!

Re: Motivate me, please

  • I went through E and Ian's and kept what I liked, just a couple outfits.  What I want them to see when they are having children of their own someday, not that I would want them to use the old clothing, but just to see how cute for this time in our life and how teeny tiny their baby clothes were.  And we're done, J got the snip, so no more baby W's over here.  Kind of sad.  That's why we are getting rid of almost everything baby as Ian out grows it.

Get some toys our for J and the girls, lap top and start inputting those clothes!  Or tagging if you're that far along.  You can do it!

  • I hear ya!  I have 3-4 tubs sitting in the guest room and that's as far as I have gotten.  I did go through and pull out what I want to kepe for each of them...I like keeping of a few of my favorite outfits from each season for them...either for them to see as they get older like Steph mentioned or I may have pieces of the clothes turned into a quilt which I recently saw
  • Tell me about it -- I've been wanting to consign my kids' old clothes for a while now, but haven't wanted to attack the overwhelming containers of clothes I have!  Some is priced from a garage sale I had a year and a half ago -- thinking I'd have another one last year -- but no such luck.  I feel your pain!

Not weird at all...I actually enjoy the process of organizing, tagging, etc...just have no darn time to sit down and do it!
  • I'm thinking about consigning for the first time, and the whole idea of it is really overwhelming to me. I just keep thinking that not enough of my crap is going to sell and it's going to end up being a huge waste of my time. I need to get over it and just try it though.

I love me some organizing...I do not love it when it comes to consigning.  I get overwhelmed then I get anxious, then I breakdown....

That, and, I soooo can't find the time with my brood running around.

  • I had BIG plans to spend the weekend getting all of my loot ready to go for the TANK sale....then with the snowstorm we had no power for pretty much the entire weekend! Frick!! That was about the only completely free weekend that I had. The part that I dislike is pinning the tags on....everything else I'm a-ok with.
  • 1. It will clean out your house so less clutter.

    2. Put some cash in the bank or break even depending on what you buy.

    3. I like shopping your stuff so get it tagged. Wink

    4. Start a little bit at a time, one tub a  week, pile etc. That is what I do or make a to-tag list. I get a lot more done that way rather than gathering all of it into a huge pile and starting which is very overwhelming.

  • steph-have you started pinning? I just unpinned about 12 outfits of yours for L and have some tips for you to save you on pins. Remind me to show you on saturday. :-)

And girls we do have tagging services now if you want to go that route.
