QOTD: Thursday

If you could be any character from a film/TV show, who would you pick and why?

Re: QOTD: Thursday

  • Okay, I'll start. For me, I'd want to be Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She had all sorts of fun one liners, great friends, and could kick some serious (vampire/demon) butt. Plus she got to be with Angel and Spike. Lucky girl!
  • Lorelia Gilmore. Bc then I'd get to be with Luke (swoon), and work with Sookie (laugh all day!), and have a favorite daughter. (I already have the last thing....) And I'd have great lines all day.... what? doesn't this fantasy life also come with a script writer?

  • It's a tossup between Charlotte York on SATC (would love to have an apartment on Park Ave and I always loved her outfits on that show) and Alicia Florrick on The Good Wife (strong female character and making out with Josh Charles wouldn't be so bad either).
  • I think I want to grow up to be Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights. She's beautiful, has a strong marriage, she's a great mom, she's successful, and she's not afraid to stand up for what is right.

The only downside, of course, is living in Texas with a bunch of people who think football is more important than life itself, but I still love her character.

Oooh, good choice. You'd also get to say, "Y'all" often and sound totally adorable doing so.

damn you. DAMN. YOU. here i was thinking i was all witty and going to post Lorelai. so i will take Rory.....b.c i would hae Lorelai as a mom, a trust fund and get to make out with Jess AND Logan (mmmmmmmmmm Logan). "this is how we do it at the Yale Daily News!)

the last episode for FNL was one of the best scripts for a female character. When Tami walked out of the restaurant when coach was going on and on about marriage being a partnership, i wanted to high five her.

OMG, I'd love to have her hair, and to be able to pull off cowboy boots with dresses and skirts. And Kyle Chandler -- LOVE HIM.

  • I'd be Hermione- she's smart, witty, and plays by the rules, but knows when to break them. I can definitely relate to her. Plus, I'd love to learn all of that magic and be adventurous!
  • That's a good question! So many of the characters I love (Liz Lemon, Bridget Jones) don't have lives I would actually want to live.

Off the top of my head, I think I'll go with Elle Woods. Not that I would want to be an attorney, but I would love to have that positive pink outlook on life, have everything always go my way and be married to Luke Wilson.

  • So many movies/shows to choose from!  I think currently I'd like to be Alex Kerkovich from the show Happy Endings.  She's quirky and owns a fashion boutique in Chicago.

Plus, IRL I have been known to make up songs that sound freakishly similar to this.

  • I also love Lorelei Gilmore. She's super hot, smart, witty, successful, and she has a great relationship with her daughter. She does have a history of screwing up good relationships, and her relationship with her parents is definitely strained, but I still love her.

Claire Huxtable was also pretty awesome - successful lawyer, has a great marriage and family, smart and funny, and seems to "have it all."

Yes ditto. i love bridget & liz but don't want their lives. and i feel this way about tami taylor too. totally want her hair & clothes but texas and and 24-7 football thing. meh.

perhaps aurelia from love actually because she ends up with colin firth? *swoon*

i could also go with hermione granger. smart, a little sassy, and i'd love to be able to clean my entire apartment with a swish and flick of a wand!

Tami: "I'm gonna say to you what you didn't have the grace to say to me. Congratulations."

Ohhhh! Buuuuuuuurn! I loved it too.

  • Love this question! I could probably chew on it for a week. But the first character that occurred to me is Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. She believes in her work and wants everyone to enjoy their lives more. She's proud of who she is, her community, and what she does. Her enthusiasm for the events and projects she takes on is unmistakable - everything she does is over-the-top and SO much fun. And she's really grounded in herself - when people question her beliefs and enthusiasm she's unfazed and just carries on, no matter how dorky people insinuate she is.

So a) I'd love to be that sure of myself and what I'm doing, b) I'd be cracking up all day long because of my coworkers, and c) I'd enjoy the Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) eye candy.

  • My first thought was Lorelai, too! But only post-GG Lorelai, where presumably she's married to Luke, getting along with her parents, with a successful inn and they all live happily in Stars Hollow (right? their lives stayed just like that after the finale? because they're real people . . .?).

I like the Clair Huxtable idea.  Maybe Mary from Downton Abbey (the dresses! the servants! the life of luxury!) if you forget all the pesky war/impotence issues.

But honestly no one has a life I would really pick because they're all too screwed up in one way or another and I don't need any drama.

Would you believe I tried? All I needed was a "Knope 2012" sticker - so easy! But Otto wanted to be Ron Swanson instead and, lacking burliness, couldn't figure out how to make it work.
