Anyone familiar with Independence Ave?

Looking to find a good parking garage on Independence, SW. Will it be better to metro there (it would be around 2pm)? I was thinking it might be easier to park?

That's a lot of ground to cover.  There are several garages around D and 2nd.  What cross street for Independence?

It depends where on Independence you will be around. I work a few blocks from Indpendence and use the Smithsonian entrance/exit on Independence as my Metro station for commuting. Most likely Metro is going to be easier, but if you want/need to drive and will be around 12th Street, there are parking garages about two blocks away.

Not sure. This is the address I got:

1000 Independence Avenue, SW, near the Smithsonian and L'Enfant metro stations

That seems like a hint. I can't think of any garages closer than those two stations.
