Pet-sitting recs for Fairfax/Loudoun County?
So, DH and I are going on a 10 day trip with my family to Italy/Spain in the end of May. We have 2 labs that DH's parents usually watch for us when we are gone for more than a few days, but we just found out that this will not be possible when we are gone in May, so now we have to come up with another solution. We have boarded them at a local doggie day care when we are gone for just a few days, but it breaks my heart to think of boarding them there for 10 days, so I'm thinking of going the way of maybe a petsitter. We would need someone to stay at the house while we are gone versus just stopping by a few times a day because the dogs can't be left alone all night long (it is ok for them to be gone during the work day because we are gone for work every day and the dogs are fine for that amount of time). DH isn't really on board with hiring a stranger to stay at the house, but I'm trying to find another solution than boarding. We don't really have any other family that can watch the dogs, and none of our local friends are dog people. I'm hoping someone here has a pet-sitter rec they can share - we live in Sterling.
