I want to love Ann Curry but I just can't
I really miss Meredith and I'm still missing Katie. Something about Ann Curry is just not resonating with me. This is so petty and weird of me to care about but it drives me crazy that she kind of whispers in her sit-down interviews with people. Specifically, it was with JFK's intern/mistress this morning. Ann always hunches all the way over and her posture is terrible - and then she whispers. I really want to love her! Don't get me started on her wardrobe. Am I alone here? I am a die-hard fan of the Today Show so I will never not watch. Maybe she'll grow on me.

ITA. She was a natural choice to succeed Meredith in the anchor role, but she just doesn't do well without an exact script to follow. That's why she was so good at the news desk! She has such a terrible time ad-libbing and stumbles over her words a lot.
I had hopes she would improve. Send her back to the news desk, and have Natalie or Savannah take a crack at the anchor spot. Savannah's actually really good in the weekend anchor spot.
I'm sad I have such an opinion on this.
I guess I need to get a life, or switch morning shows.
I loved Ann when she was at the news desk. I thought her "assignments" and interviews were always so interesting (Presidents and Kings in Africa, etc). I was so excited when she got the anchor position after Meridith left. But now I'm feeling like the "family" just isn't the same. The way they interact now is so much "stiffer" in my opinion.
And yes, Ann needs a new wardrobe person. Stat.
Maybe it will get better. I hope so!
ETA: I also used to love Kaite until I saw her IRL. She was a b!tch to the fans. She was a good anchor, but not personable or nice at all.

Ann has driven me crazy for a long time. I do like her news reporting style and some of her assignments, but when she interviews people it drives me batty. She asks some of the lamest questions and the posture/whispering just gets on my nerves.
I always thought Meredith and Matt's relationship was strained, but maybe that's just me? I miss the Katie, Matt, Al and Ann days.
Matt has said that Meredith was his favorite co-host. Matt and Meredith really loved each other and I think their chemistry was amazing.
I think everyone loves Ann but I'm wondering how the ratings are doing or if they're getting negative feedback on Ann. I absolutely cannot imagine her slinking back to the news desk. It would be such an embarrassment that I think she would move on to something completely different before accepting such a major demotion.
Like I said, I want to like her so maybe she'll grow on me.
Really? I always thought Katie was his favorite. When they had the anchor reunion they seemed to still have awesome chemistry. And his body language with Meredith was odd. He was always leaning or turned sideways. Maybe I missed Katie??
Yeah- I can't imagine that they'll demote her but I definitely turn the show off earlier if she is doing an interview that I don't like.
