What time would you have this party?
For the kids' bday parties I always have them at home and do a big buffet where I do most of the cooking. We roughly have 30 adults and a dozen kids everytime. For T's party I want to cut back (both the expense and time) so I'm thinking of just doing apps and cake (and write join us for cake on the card so my Italian family doesn't show up expecting a feast lol!). What time would you have the party? It'd be on a Saturday if that matters. The other issue I see if my family lingers foreeeeeever so I'd afraid I'll have a house full of people looking to be fed eventually. TIA!

Re: What time would you have this party?
So I guess i should put an end time...normally I just put the start and then it's until whenever....
I'd have to do it at 6:30pm and specifically say it's for cake and coffee... both our families are lingerers - not in a terrible sense - but I could never have them over at 2 and expect them to be gone by 5.
Sh*t we're the family that has the party AFTER the party... bridal shower, baby shwoer, christening, 1st birthday - a group usually ends up back by us and we hang out and order pizza eventually lol.
