I'm getting married tomorrow!!!
Re: I'm getting married tomorrow!!!
This is a totally self gratuitous post, but I just got a burst of excitement that I needed to get out. And since I feel like talking all about it, here's what we're doing...
We are going the "easy" route this time. Planning weddings are fun, but lord are they time consuming! It was ridiculous trying to find a judge that actually wanted to stick around work on a Friday afternoon to perform the ceremony and working out other people's schedules is really a pain. We finally decided to do everything a week later than our original date and suddenly things just fell in to place. The civil courthouse downtown is really pretty so pictures should turn out well. Our dinner reception (still family only) will be at this great restaurant on Memorial called Cafe Benedicte. The food is amazing and we reserved the wine room so that we'll have privacy from the rest of the patrons. My mom enlisted one of my girlfriends from high school who opened a cake-making business to make our wedding cake as a surprise for me and I was thrilled when she described it--3 tiers with a 1/2 in. black ribbon at the bottom of each tier. The bottom tier will have white scroll-work on it, and the middle tier will have a cushion design with little pearls in the corners. There will be "little white flowers" cascading down from the top tier (she may include some red to accent since my jewelry and toes are red), which will be plain for us to save for a year. I am thrilled that my mom basically picked out exactly what I would choose for myself...I'm sure my friend offered guidance as well. Another friend (and nestie!) of mine is a stylist at Blow Dry Bar so I'll have my hair done there, and they contracted a make-up person to do my make-up. I mean, what girl doesn't want to be pampered on her wedding day, regardless of where she's getting married!? C's mom is friends with a photographer so as a gift to us she will be doing pictures of the ceremony and dinner. Even more reason to have hair and makeup done!
We had to battle hard for a family-only wedding. C's mom likes big celebrations and wanted to invite all of their close friends. C and I kept saying "we want family only. we're not even inviting OUR friends". It took SEVERAL conversations and her trying to sneak people on to the guest list before we finally got her to understand. (SIGH) In order to compromise, we're letting her throw a "celebration" (wedding reception/baby shower combo but none of the cutesy stuff--that is SO not me) at the end of March. She has rented a banquet room at The County Line and she can invite ALL the friends she wants! HA!
After dinner Friday we'll swing by our house (it's on the way out) and change and then head to San Antonio for the weekend. We decided that it would be best to do low-key since I'm 6 months pregnant and not the most comfortable anymore. We're staying at the Hyatt Hill Country so we'll sleep in and do massages on Saturday, and C may take his clubs and hit the driving range for a bit. We plan on going to the Riverwalk for dinner and just enjoying the people watching and scenery. I have been to SA hundreds of times and yet it never gets old, it's always so festive! On Sunday we are going to do this drive called the Devil's Backbone. I hear it's just absolutely gorgeous, and we like stuff like that so we're excited. (However, I just realized that there probably aren't a lot of bathrooms along it--UH OH!) We'll head in to Austin for dinner and then work our way home. C is taking Monday off so we aren't in any real hurry. Should be a relaxing weekend and it definitely fits our style to a T.
Congratulations! I'm so happy that the occasion has worked out to be exactly what you wanted.
So Tasty, So Yummy
This! Congrats!
