Birthday party at turtle back mid-march?

Carys' bday is March 11th - i was thinking of having her kid party at turtle back since it's relatively inexpensive and a cute idea.  do you think it will be way too cold to do that?!

  • Would you do it indoor or in their outside pavillion? I'm thinking it may be too cold.but that's me and I hate being cold :-)

the party part (like cake, food, etc) would all be indoors.  the zoo part, would obvi be outdoors...

  • belle is march 3 and i considered doing this at the national zoo this year same thing. cake/games ect all indoors. but zoo tour is not. i polled a bunch of the moms i'd invite and they thought it was GREAT. they'd bundle the kids up if need be

we decided against it for a few reasons but weather was not the main (cost was the other -its freaking expensive)

  • I think it's a great Idea! My nephew's party was there and fun! As long as there is no storm.. ;)

  • Since her birthday is March 11th, I would do the week after so the chances are it is a little nicer out. The twins birthday is November 1st and I had their 2nd birthday outside the week before Halloween pumpkin picking!

  • I had thought about it since A's birthday is march as well. We're going to hold off on the zoo until he and the other kids among our friends are a little older though. I wanted to get more information though about what parts would be inside vs. out and what animals will be active that time of year.

  • We go tothe zoo year 'round so the temps don't concern me. What does, is that March is a dicey month, you never know if it's going t be nice, or raining, or snowing, or what.

  • We also go year round and I LOVE TBZ in the winter.  There are hardly any people there!!!!  I think the party's a great idea, but like pp said, March is kind of risky with weather...
