silly vent about my husband but i have to get it out
why is it that when i ask him for 1 or 2 of something like potatos he brings home a 5 lb bag? we don't eat white potatos that often to need that much. then they go bad and we have to throw some out. he does this all the time. I ask for 4 limes for a recipe, he brings home a bag of 20. "because they're cheaper this way!" he says everytime. yesterday i asked him to bring home strawberries. he forgot what i asked for and brings home a 10 lb bag of oranges. we still have 3 from the last bag he brought home that i told him was too much, and that's with me using them for everything possible so we dont throw any out. i've made fresh squeezed orange juice, ice pops, sorbet, fruit salad... so i tell him (in a slightly annoyed voice) that he has to stop buying the huge bags of sh&t we end up throwing out, and remind him that we never use that many, it's a waste and i still have 3 oranges left from the 5 lb bag he bought 2 weeks ago he says "yea but those are bad, you have to throw them out"
arrrrrrrrggggg OF COURSE I HAVE BAD ONES YOU SILLY MAN! DO YOU NOT SEE THE POINT I'M TRYING TO MAKE?????????????????????????

at least your hubby stops.. mine works for a grocery store and never brings anything home "after 8 hours I am out of there" so you cant buy bread which takes 2 seconds so now after I worked 8 hours I have to stop on my way home... annoying!
that stinks with fruit tho since it does go bad quickly ... at least potatoes you can make a bunch of dishes !
and thats why I do the shopping! when my husband does our "weekly" food shopping for the house...he manages only to spend 50 bucks!!!! So lets just say he has not done food shopping in a long time by himself! Seriously what do you buy for 50 bucks!!!!
i enjoy food shopping because i go alone and just roam around the isles making sure i get everything we need. besides. there is always something i forget to put on the list and when i see it i'm like oh yeah!
My FIL does that. Makes my MIL nuts. I think it's cause he's obsessed with the warehouse store, BJ's.
They put out a small dish of dry cat food out for a former cat of theirs that now lives next store but sometimes wanders over. She told him to pick some up at the store and he bought like a 20 lb bag.
