Moms--need an opinion quick--UPDATED

Quinn just sort of threw up, it was pretty much just water.  I'm not sure if it was because he coughed or if he has a stomach virus.  I know it is going around, but I don't know anyone who had it, but we were in Target in the other day.

My question is:  Do I send Molly to school or not?  Normally, I would just keep her home, but today is her Valentine's Day celebration.

What would you do?

Thanks so much for your help.

UPDATE:  He threw up again.  If I had brought her to school, he would have thrown up in the hallway in front of all of the other kids and parents while we were waiting for the teacher to open the door.  It was right at that EXACT time that he threw up again.

Re: Moms--need an opinion quick--UPDATED

  • How does she feel? If you can, keep her home for another 30 minutes to an hour, give her breakfast now and if she's feeling fine, send her. I'm sure if she had a stomach virus, she'd feel like crap or throw up again.
  • I don't understand. He threw up- not her right? If it wasn't Molly who threw up, I'd definitely send her to school. I wouldn't want her in the house with Quinn until I knew what his story was.
  • If she feels fine I would send her.  Didn't she miss it last year?  Or another event that she was sick for?
Where in world would you like me to ship you? image My boys - I am so screwed in about 7 years. What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? LIPSTICK !
  • I would only keep the child home who might be sick. I think its a teensy bit overkill to keep a child home just in case they are sick. I dont think 99% of the others kids moms would even have that thought cross their mind
  • I'd totally send her unless she was feeling sick.

  • Yes, I would send her to school.  My son throws up every morning after his milk becuase of post nasal drip.  he goes to school.  i know he isn't sick... i wouldn't keep my daughter home if my son was sick, though...
  • There have been many times one kid goes to school when the other is sick. And more times than not the second kid never does get sick.

(I just have to have a teacher or friend watch the sick kid in the car so I don't bring a sick kid in with me)

  • if she is feeling fine, i would send her. didn't she miss the halloween parade or something this year...that said, i am kind of immune to throw up since m does it so frequently and not bc she's sick!
  • I sent Maya to school when Zach had the stomach virus.  I was glad to have her out of the house and away from him.  Unless she feels sick, I'd definitely have her go.

  • Since it wan't Molly who threw up then I would send her in.

If she gets sick in school they will call you. Hopefully it's not the bug!

  • Here are my reasons for keeping her home:

    1.  Even if she's not sick, she could still be a carrier.  I would hate to be the reason the virus runs through her class.

    2.  I have to take Quinn with me to drop Molly off, and I don't want him getting sick in the car.

    3.  Molly's school is not a drop-off school.  I have to bring both of them inside, and I don't want to risk him throwing up in school.

Update:  I didn't bring her, but if I had he would have thrown up in the hallway in front of all of the other kids and parents.
